How we value Transformers
Two figures that look alike can be worth very different amounts, and our offer reflects both the figure itself and what we have on the shelf. When we make an offer, we look at:
- Demand: how quickly the figure sells in our store
- Current stock: whether we already have that figure in inventory
- Completeness: the weapons, accessories, and small parts that came with the figure
- Paperwork: instructions, tech spec cards, and catalogs
- Box and packaging: box condition, original inserts, and whether it has been opened
- Stickers: applied, unapplied, worn, or replaced
- Plastic and chrome: yellowing, sun fading, and chrome wear
- Smoke exposure: odor, yellowing, or residue on figures and boxes
- Function: loose joints, broken tabs, and whether it still transforms cleanly
- Version: original release, variant, or reissue
Collector tips from our staff
- Check the stamp. Original G1 figures carry a copyright stamp with a year and country of manufacture. Reissues are often marked with later dates or a different country.
- Look for a rub sign. Many figures released from 1985 on have a heat-sensitive rub sign that reveals an Autobot or Decepticon logo.
- Keep everything together. Small weapons, instructions, and tech specs add real value, so store them with the figure.
- Keep figures out of the sun. Sunlight yellows white plastic and fades stickers and boxes.

We take trades on Transformers that are complete and in excellent condition. Bring them in and we’ll look them over with you.
