Have a Collection to Sell?

Misfit Toys buys vintage toy and collectible collections at our store in the Houston Heights, 3511 Houston Avenue. Walk-ins are welcome every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For large collections, we come to you, from anywhere.

We are a proud mom-and-pop store, and our honest business practices have made us the #1 spot to sell your toys in the Houston metro area. Daniel has been buying and selling toys since the 1990s, and our team of about 15 collectors knows these lines inside and out.

What we buy

• Vintage Star Wars and classic sci-fi figures
• Godzilla, kaiju, and Japanese sofubi
• Marvel, DC, and superhero figures
• Horror figures and collectibles
• Vintage toys from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s
• Graded figures, sealed figures, and prototypes
• Retro video games and consoles, especially pre-2010 and sealed titles

Sorry but we do not buy Beanie Babies, FUNKO POPs, Sports Memorabilia, and Trading Cards.

How we buy

We prefer to buy the whole collection rather than cherry-pick the best pieces. A collection that has been picked over is much harder to sell afterward, so one offer for everything is usually the better outcome for you. We also buy partial collections.

Payment is by check, wire transfer, store credit, or a combination.

How we value your collection

Every offer reflects both the item itself and the market for it. We look at:

• Demand: how quickly the item sells in our store
• Current stock: whether we already have it in inventory
• Condition: wear, paint loss, and loose or broken parts
• Smoke exposure: odor, yellowing, or residue from a smoking home
• Sun damage: faded colors, yellowed plastic, and yellowed or brittle bubbles on carded figures
• Completeness: original accessories, weapons, and instructions
• Packaging: box or card condition, and whether it has been opened
• Version: original release, variant, or reissue

If you’re holding a collection you plan to sell, keep it in a smoke-free room and out of direct sunlight.

Walk-ins welcome

No appointment needed. Walk in any day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For large collections, you’re welcome to call ahead. You can also email misfittoystx@gmail.com or text (832) 524-8700 with a description of what you’re bringing, but walk-ins take priority.

About our offers

We are not obligated to purchase any item. Every offer depends on condition, and an estimate made from photos may change once we see the items in person, since photos often don’t show condition issues such as smoke odor.
